It’s 2:00 a.m.: Do You Know Where Your Information Is?
Thursday, March 31, 2022
1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Abstract: If you've seen a webinar in the last ten years, you know that "More information has been created in the last two years than in the preceding 100,000 years of human history!!" It's true, but your organization probably isn't 100,000 years old. Nevertheless, your organization IS creating more information every year than the year before. The overwhelming majority of it is born digitally. And some of it is even stored properly.
But in 2022, that's not really good enough. Organizations need to treat their information assets *as* assets, so they can be leveraged to provide value to the organization and support effective business outcomes. That means you need to know what you have, where it is, and how it's being used.
In this session we'll talk about where enterprise information lives, including where it is if it's "in the cloud" or in an app. We'll take a look at ways to clean up the digital landfills we all seem to have, including the idea of defensible disposition. We'll wrap up with a discussion about how to position information as an asset.
