Speaker: Ray Davis has been in the RM/IG profession for thirty years. His introduction began with Commerce Bank, a financial services organization headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Beginning in 1991, Ray created their in-house RIM/IG program servicing twenty-eight locations in four states. By the time he left the bank in 2009 the RIM/IG program had expanded to a fully outsourced program servicing 1,200 locations from Maine to Florida.
 
Ray is the current Region Director for the ARMA Mid-Atlantic Region, Treasurer for the ARMA International Educational Foundation, and Treasurer for the Liberty Bell Chapter (Philadelphia) of ARMA. He has continued his RIM/IG career with Feith Systems and Software located in Fort Washington, PA.  

Abstract: Ray believes that if you have a career, versus a job, you will have the enthusiasm and passion to work hard in developing your career to be the best you can be. That enthusiasm and passion will make getting through those tough days a little easier.
 
In this presentation, Ray will define:

• Having a job versus having a career;
• Recognizing a career opportunity at its early stages and making the decision to hop on board for the ride or keep looking;
• Defining the components of a successful career; and
• Demonstrating how not a “what” but a “who” will be an integral part of your career path.

Ray will use himself as an example of developing a career and seeing the signs of where he needed to be. Surprisingly, RIM/IG was not his first career choice; but it became quite obvious that is where he needed to be. While 2020 threw him a curve ball he was not expecting, he was able to make it to the other side successfully!
