Donna Bear is the Curator of Species Management at Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens, where she oversees animal records, regulatory compliance, permits, and species management. During her 33-year career with the zoo, she has served in a variety of roles, including bird keeper, Curator of Birds, Associate Registrar, and her current position. Donna has extensive experience developing management systems and improving records processes that support animal care, conservation, and regulatory compliance. She brings a unique perspective to records management by combining traditional records management principles with the specialized requirements of zoological institutions.
